Cuisine.tv is the fruit of an observation: for 86% of the French, eating is a pleasure which can extend into discovering the biggest names in gourmet cuisine, exploring regional cuisine, and exchanging recipes and cooking tips.
This pleasure now has its own channel - Cuisine.tv - launched on April 14, 2001, together with a proprietary website.Less than a year after its debut, Cuisine.tv has successfully achieved viewer numbers that older channels have yet to attain. It is, for example, the 4th most popular channel among female subscribers of CanalSatellite (excluding option-based and youth channels, MédiaCabSat February 2002).
Received by 1,794,000 CanalSatellite subscribers at year-end 2001, Cuisine.tv generated revenues of € 1.6 million in its first eight months of operations.
