TMC : A new player in mainstream television

In January 2002, Pathé acquired 50% of TMC from Sofirad and thus successfully expanded its presence into general-interest television.

As the 7 th French channel, TMC is received by over 12 million people. It is broadcast via cable, satellite and terrestrially in the "greater Southeast" of France.

In March 2002, Pathé reached an agreement with the Principality of Monaco to acquire an additional 30% stake in TMC, bringing its ownership position to 80%. Pathé simultaneously acquired 60% of MDO (Monégasque des Ondes), which provides the executive production for TMC programming, from Canal+ Groupe and Fidimages, both subsidiaries of Vivendi Universal.

Pathé will substantially renew the programming schedule of TMC over the course of 2002.

TMC will thus be well positioned to address the launch of digital terrestrial television in the best of conditions.
